caterers combined liability policy provides up to £10 million* Public
Liability, £10 million* Products Liability (Food Poisoning) and
standard £10 million Employers’ Liability (inc. casual workers for
those busy periods). We also include Property Owners Liability to
safeguard those with business premises.
*£5 million AUTOMATICALLY increasing to £10 million where required by contract or by regulation.

TIP - Nut Allergies:
How
can you tell if someone has a nut allergy? The simple answer is that
you can't. It is for this reason that mobile caterers are now being
advised to display signs warning that foodstuffs on sale may contain
traces of nut.
Nut allergy is an increasingly recognised problem and its importance
lies in the fact that, on rare occasions, it can kill. Avoiding nuts is
more easily said than done - in fact, if you are allergic to nuts it is
virtually impossible to guarantee that you will never eat anything
containing nuts, nut derivatives or even food that has come into
contact with nuts.
It
was discovered that for the to be a successful claim against the
caterer, negligence would have to be proven. As a result, to free
themselves from negligence, we advise all caterers, who believe that
their products may contain nut traces; to display a sign warning
customers that food on sale from their unit may contain traces of nut. |
